A boy out for a ride on his bicycle in Danville was struck by a car last week Tuesday. He may have ridden into the path of the car and the car did not have time to stop. The victim was 11-years-old and suffered from numerous injuries according to his mother.

"He has a titanium rod in his femur and a broken collarbone," she said. "He also had a large laceration on his top lip that took stitches on the inside and outside."

According to Danville Police Sgt. Tom Looney, the boy was struck by a vehicle on Cedar Street in Danville. He was taken by ambulance to Knox Community Hospital and later Med-flighted to Columbus Children's Hospital.

He has been released from the hospital. The driver of the car was not issued a ticket.
